About Sastra Technologies
Software for Indian Lenders, and Only for Indian Lenders
Sastra Technologies has built software for India's non-banking financial companies since 2010. Regulatory reporting and credit assessment are not a vertical we moved into — they are the only work we have ever done.

Company
Who is Sastra Technologies?
Sastra Technologies is a privately held Indian software company based in Chennai, operating since 2010. It builds software for non-banking financial companies regulated by the Reserve Bank of India — specifically, automated preparation and filing of RBI regulatory returns in XBRL, and assessment of borrower repayment capacity from bank statements. It also delivers credit bureau and lending API integration work for Indian lenders.
What we build
Two products, and the integration work around them.

Product · Live
AB Analyse — bank statement analysis for lenders
Reads a borrower's bank statement PDF and returns categorised inflows and outflows, the repayment obligations already leaving the account, and risk flags. Coverage across 110+ Indian banks. Live, and you can try it without talking to us.

Product · Early access
AB Compliance — RBI regulatory reporting in XBRL
Prepares, validates and files RBI returns from a lender's own data, tracks audit findings to closure, and runs Fair Practice Code workflows. Currently in development; early access is open.

Services
Integration services
Two things, both lending-specific: API Development, and Credit Bureau Integration. We take this work when it is close to what we already know.

Why only NBFCs
India has thousands of finance companies that lend without being banks: against gold, for working capital, for a two-wheeler, to a self-help group in a village. They are regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, they file detailed returns on a fixed schedule, and they lend to borrowers whose income does not appear in a payslip. That is the whole of our market and it has been since 2010.
Sixteen years in one industry produces a specific kind of knowledge. Not that we can build software — many companies can — but that we know which figure in a return the regulator's validator rejects and why, that a taxonomy revision lands weeks before a deadline, and that a borrower with no credit history is not the same thing as a borrower with no cash flow. None of that is in a requirements document. It arrives from having been wrong about it once.
The practical consequence for you is short: you will not spend the first quarter of an engagement teaching us your business.
Practice
How we work
Ordinary professional engineering — the kind a lender's IT reviewer is checking for — applied to one industry only.

We build and run our own software
Both products are ours. We are not reselling, white-labelling, or assembling someone else's platform, so when something needs to change, the people who can change it work here.
Engineering practice, plainly
PHP and Symfony on the backend, React on the frontend, MySQL and MariaDB behind them. Version control, a build pipeline, unit tests on the backend and browser tests end to end. Our own servers on DigitalOcean and AWS, monitored. This is ordinary professional practice rather than anything remarkable — and it is what a lender's IT reviewer is checking for.
Our statement analysis runs on a large language model
AB Analyse uses Anthropic's Claude to extract structured data from statement PDFs, with a validation layer over the top. We say so rather than describing it vaguely as "AI-powered", because a regulated lender's due diligence will ask what the sub-processors are and the answer should not be a surprise at that stage.
We hire graduates and train them
Our team is built by taking people in their first job and putting them on production code with someone experienced next to them. It is slower than hiring senior engineers and it is why the people who know your system tend to still be here in year three.

No. The company has operated since 2010 and has worked in Indian lending technology throughout. Its current products are newer than the company — AB Analyse is live and AB Compliance is in development — but the business is not an early-stage one.
Primarily a product company. Two products, AB Analyse and AB Compliance, plus integration services that sit close to them: API development and credit bureau integration for lenders. It does not take general IT projects or staff augmentation work.
